Rachel and Dylan were married at Ragged Point Inn during a wedding that was full of deeply personal moments. In fact, Dylan is also a local wedding photographer whose work I greatly admire. To be chosen as his wedding photographer was a great honor. I am truly humbled at the opportunity to capture his and Rachel’s wedding day. Also on hand for Rachel and Dylan’s wedding at Ragged Point Inn were Colton & Jessa of Fox Jump Cinematics. Talented wedding videographers who were present to create an epic film of Rachel and Dylan’s day. Lastly, the mega-talented Andy Bowlin of Burlap & Oak Photography lent a hand in making Rachel and Dylan’s wedding gallery come to life!
When it comes to weddings along the coast of Big Sur, you never truly know what to expect weather-wise. For Rachel and Dylan’s wedding day at Ragged Point Inn, we had dreamed of a bright, sunny day. However, what emerged instead was low-hanging fog. But, we were able to take what might have otherwise been a dampening experience and turn it into one that created wonderfully moody wedding photos full of editorial moments!

Lending itself to the moody and dramatic weather of the day, believe it or not, was Rachel’s wedding gown! She was a positively stunning bride in a detailed ballgown with an embellished bodice and soft layers of tulle skirting. By far the greatest element of her wedding gown was the thigh-high split. Allowing her and Dylan to go in for an epic kiss, once they were announced as husband and wife. We also recreated this moment once Rachel and Dylan made their exit from the ceremony space. We were comfortably tucked away in the forest path of Ragged Point Inn when Dylan dipped Rachel, in what was a beautiful moment between the married couple. Woven through the towering trees around us were strands of cafe lighting, illuminating the path for the newlywed couple.
With vows recited and wedding photography along the shore complete, there was one thing awaiting Rachel and Dylan’s arrival. An epic wedding reception celebration with their family and friends. There was a heartwarming speech by the mother of the bride, shared donuts between the bride and groom, and a first dance that could rival that of the most talented ballroom dancers!
