FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who are you for?

I’m a photographer for the people! But seriously ~ my mission is to bring photography to everyone: all shapes, sizes, identities, backgrounds, you name it. From traditional religious ceremonies to eccentric modern weddings to intimate elopements & beyond, I enjoy working with couples from all walks of life and am deeply committed to making my services available to all. In 2020, I took this commitment a step further by becoming an LGBTQ+ Inclusive Certified vendor through EquallyWed, the nation’s top LGBTQ+ wedding planning website. Whoever you are, know that I will go hard for you and make sure you have a positive experience working with me. :)

Do you travel?

Yes! I LOVE traveling for weddings. When you inquire, just mention where you're getting married and if it’s outside of SLO County and I'll let you know what my travel fee would be based on your venue distance. For many weddings no fee applies. :)

How do we book you?

Simply get in touch with some info about yourselves & your wedding and I'll take it from there! If you haven't already found a package that works for you just yet, we can keep the convo going around that until we find the right coverage option for you. Once that's decided upon, I’ll send over a contract for you to review via my client portal. After the contract is signed, you’ll be able to submit your initial 50% retainer to reserve your date. After that, I’m all yours and we can begin ironing out the deets!

Can we meet first?

Of course! I always love putting faces to names and getting acquainted first. This a big decision after all! We can meet up in SLO County if that's feasible for you, otherwise we can set up a video call via Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, etc. Whatever is best for you!

What is your photography process like?

I start each session by creating a safe space for you & your partner to feel comfortable while guiding you through some simple, yet elegant poses. I do this by being open with you as well, so you can keep it real and let your light shine. Through my methods, you can expect to see a good mix of lighthearted candid photos + romantic portraits with that sultry, cinematic look.

When we’re working together, I’m first & foremost your friend. I wholeheartedly believe the best photos are taken when the vibe is playfully vulnerable - this way, you can just be yourself & maybe even forget all about the camera!

At weddings, I wear as many hats as can fit on my head: photographer, therapist, coach, bouquet-caddy, etc. Put simply, I’ll be your right-hand man throughout the day, while also giving you a balance of space & freedom to simply have fun and enjoy yourself.

Okay, so after the wedding is over your work is done, right?!

Not quite…capturing the stills on my camera is really just the beginning! Sorting & editing your photos is by far the bulk of my work; it’s also where the magic comes out in your images! In fact, I’m dedicated to crafting a unique look for each session by taking my time with the development process. I take great pride in my editing work and do everything I can to create beautiful & lasting images for my clients.

Do we have any say in how our wedding photos will be edited?

Of course! The creative process is always a collaborative one. If there's a specific style, tonality, or other aesthetic that you're hoping to receive with your images, please say so ~ remember that this is your wedding and I’m here to help achieve your vision in your photos, too! :)

When & how do we receive our images?

Anywhere from 2-8 weeks depending on your package, with a "sneak peek" gallery delivered within 7 days for weddings with coverage periods over 8 hours! Your gallery is hosted on my website forever, where you can jump in anytime to review & download your photos in full-resolution.

How many photos will we receive?

Your final image quantity ranges anywhere from 100-500+ final images, depending on coverage time. In general, I deliver a minimum of 50+ final edited images per hour of coverage.

Can we order prints and/or albums?

Yes! After receiving your images, you're free to order wall art & paper prints anytime from your gallery site. These premium-quality prints come from BayPhoto Lab in Santa Cruz, CA. I can’t recommend going through my website’s print store enough. These folks are top notch and guarantee every order so your satisfaction is guaranteed.

You can also design & order your own wedding album to cherish forever, or for a fee I can design a custom wedding album for you and save you the work! Inquire for details.

Paper prints start at just $3/image ~ ready-to-hang wall art starts at $75 per piece.

Are our photos backed up somewhere?

Absolutely. While my gallery website will securely host your final images to access anytime online, I also backup all of your images in my archival hard drives for one year. During that time, you’re free to reach out if you believe you’re missing something and/or would like to review any outtakes with me. After a year, the outtakes will be erased to reduce clutter & preserve space (modern photo sizes are massive!). You will still have your final gallery images doubly backed up in my archival hard drives forever, so in the unlikely event that my gallery hosting website crashes, you’ll still have access to your final photos anytime upon request!

What constitutes an outtake image?

I deliver all images that are up to my quality standards for being technically correct, important to the story, or artistically/aesthetically pleasing. I leave out any technically incorrect (over/underexposed, very out-of-focus, etc.), redundant and/or otherwise unflattering images. If you have any further questions on this process or any of the above answers, please don’t hesitate to ask me directly!

Do you offer other photography services?!

Yes! I also offer real estate, landscape photography, event photography, among other things ~ you can find my entire catalogue of work at my gallery website here: Galleries
