Moorten Botanical Garden Wedding

Jessica and Nick traveled all the way from Tennesee for their Moorten Botanical Garden wedding in Palm Springs. They are two souls who both flourish in nature. So their choice of wedding venue, brimming with cactus & palm trees, was the perfect location for them to be joined in marriage.

Moorten Botanical Garden is a wedding venue and cactarium (cactus nursery) in Palm Springs. They host wedding ceremonies whether you have 2 guests in attendance or 100. The ceremony space is nestled up against the side of the main building and positively flourishing with greenery in every direction. It’s called the Palm Grove Oasis Garden. Of course, the space is also accented by cactus. But not in a way that hinders vows or your walk down the aisle.

I was super stoked when Jessica and Nick reached out to me. They wanted to work with me for their wedding photos in Palm Springs because they appreciated my eye for natural scenes. But once I got to know them a little better, I was even more elated to see them become joined in marriage. They are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, who are both overflowing with kindness.

Jessica and Nick approached every aspect of planning their wedding so intentionally. Their style was so on point that they put together a wedding day color palette for their guests. When planning a wedding, it’s not uncommon for couples to choose a color palette for their florals or decor. But Jessica and Nick’s focus was on asking their guests to dress in tones from their color palette. This enhanced their overall wedding day experience. They included the color palette & attire request as part of their invitation suite. And I have to admit, their guests totally knocked it out of the park! Everyone came dressed to impress in gorgeous rich colors that amplified the natural setting of their Moorten Botanical Garden wedding.

The only slight drawback to hosting your wedding at Moorten Botanical Garden is that they are a ceremony-only wedding space. However, they provided Jessica and Nick with full access to the cactus nursery for their wedding photography experience with me. We had so much fun exploring the grounds and (carefully!) checking out the different varieties of cactus in the nursery. Jessica and Nick were so present in every moment. They soaked up every second of their new union; unable to take their eyes off each other!

After their vows and our time in the cactus nursery, it was off to their wedding celebration where their dogs made an appearance or two. It was delightful to see how Jessica & Nick included imagery of their dogs through the details of their wedding reception. They ordered a custom wedding welcome sign depicting each of their dogs, and even had cookie favors made for their guests with their dog’s adorable noses printed in the frosting!

But, I’ve saved the best for last. The day after their wedding, I worked with Jessica and Nick on a follow-up photography session in Joshua Tree! We met at Joshua Tree around sunset. The perfect time for those golden hour vibes in one of the most gorgeous landscapes I’ve ever visited.
