An unexpected storm swept through this Almond Springs wedding, but the couple and their guests took it all in stride and embraced every moment.
I first met Lauren and Bennett on the day I captured their engagement photos. We planned to meet for their session at Los Osos Oaks Reserve & Prefumo Canyon Vista Point. Once we arrived, we used this time to explore the area and take in the beautiful scenery. Most importantly, it gave us the space to get to know each other leading up to their wedding.
Seeing them again, along with their squad, on the day of their wedding (so many months later!) was an exhilarating feeling of reuniting. The energy in the air on the day of their Almond Springs wedding was palpable and I was ready to capture every moment.
Almond Springs is a wedding venue located in the rural region of Paso Robles. I’ll admit it was my first time working here, but what a journey it was. The staff was incredibly accommodating and everything ran so smoothly. They even offered us a ride in their ATV through their grounds in order to capture Lauren and Bennetts’s first look. The location was a scenic sweeping hilltop overlooking the venue and surrounded by countryside. Needless to say, we immediately said yes to a ride! This location allowed me to work with Lauren and Bennett on a variety of portraits before their ceremony. All with the stunning natural landscape of the venue within every frame.

While we could have easily spent most of the day exploring the grounds and enjoying the photography experience, it was time to get them married. Their outdoor wedding ceremony at Almond Springs was accented by a wooden arbor teeming with lush floral arrangements. Bennett, along with the officiant patiently awaited Lauren’s walk down the aisle. And the entire time, the rain came down in sheets, drenching guests and the members of their wedding party.
But the unexpected rain did not, for one moment, rob a single person of any joy on Lauren and Bennett’s wedding day. Their guests happily donned raincoats and pulled out umbrellas. Their wedding party kept the spirits high and the mood was jovial but above all abundant with love.
Lauren and Bennett exchanged vows and rings, embraced the weather, cracked jokes, and sealed their union with a kiss. Witnessing how everyone came together for Lauren and Bennett made their Almond Springs wedding uniquely fun; with the added bonus of adventure-driven wedding photos.
The fun was really just beginning. Once they were pronounced married, Lauren and Bennett enjoyed a post-ceremony cocktail with the members of their wedding party. From there, they all headed into the reception. The DJ kept the vibe high, the beats pumping and everyone on the dance floor. There were cowboy hats and everyone danced so hard that someone (I won’t say who), even ripped their pants. There was a t-shirt launcher for a few lucky guests, and the night ended with a bubble exit.
