Michela & Jake’s Tivoli Italian Villa wedding was a fun day at an amazing venue! If I had to sum up Michela and Jake it would be as easy as saying that they are both sweet and laid-back. It was apparent in every aspect of their wedding day from getting ready moments to speeches at their reception. But, they were in good company because their wedding party and family members were cracking jokes and laughing throughout the entire day!

This wedding was special to me because Michela & Jake attended my brother’s wedding a few years ago. Which just so happened to be the first wedding I ever shot! So when they reached out to me to capture the magic of their wedding day, I was thrilled!

Their wedding day kicked off, where else, but in their getting-ready suites. On Jake’s side, there were a few rounds of pool and celebratory cigars. On Michela’s side, there were hair pins and bridal preparations. Once they were in their wedding day best, they chose to have a first look with each other before meeting down the aisle at their ceremony.

I found a private spot on the gorgeous grounds of Tivoli Italian Villa for their first look. Michela walked up behind Jake and tapped her groom on the shoulder. When he turned around to see her, there was a flood of smiles and happy tears. But, the happy tears always make the best wedding day photos. Their ceremony was held in front of the most magnificent tree on the grounds of Tivoli. The whole vibe of their ceremony was tranquil and the breathtaking views of the San Diego hillside were in the backdrop while they said I do.

Once they were pronounced, I took the bride and groom on an exploration of the grounds of their Italian-inspired wedding venue for their portraits. I can’t say enough how beautiful this venue is! If you’re looking for an open-air venue just outside of San Diego, with amazing views for capturing your memories, I highly recommend it!
