Spreafico Farms Wedding Venue San Luis Obispo

Spreafico Farms is a rustic ranch wedding venue in San Luis Obispo and absolutely one of my favorite local venues to work at! You can’t beat the sunset views in the countryside, surrounded by Oak trees, and cows. Yes, the residents of Spreafico Farms even came out to moo hello for Amber and Mitch’s wedding!

I’m excited to share all of the details of Amber and Mitch’s wedding at Spreafico Farms with you. For starters, I must say this, Amber and Mitch are such a lovely couple. Working at a couple’s wedding is always such a personal experience, and it gives me so much insight into their life together. I was present with Amber and her bridesmaids in their getting-ready suite. The goal was to have Amber wedding day ready, in order to meet Mitch for a first look and to exchange personal vows. But not before the wedding party popped open a bottle of champagne on the deck of the getting-ready suite!

With her cowboy boots on and her hair in soft flowing curls, Amber was off to meet Mitch. Under the shady oak trees with the sweet smell of the overgrown grass filling the air, she walked up behind Mitch to tap him on the shoulder. Upon first glance, Mitch was overcome with joy at the sight of his bride. After I worked with them to capture a few portraits in this gorgeous spot of the venue, I stepped back, just a bit, to give them space to exchange personal vows.

Many couples opt to exchange personal vows with each other before their ceremony and away from their guests. It’s a moment for them to freely express how they feel to each other. But it’s also a moment of their day that belongs to them alone.

When Amber and Mitch’s personal vows drew to a close, they were off to their ceremony. With the rolling hilltops of San Luis Obispo in the backdrop, their wedding at Spreafico Farms was every bit picturesque. But, in a fun way that expressed their personalities. Their ceremony kicked off with “beer dudes” who handed out cans of the couple’s favorite brew to the wedding party, guests, and of course, the groom! I love that the idea of beer dudes has caught on as a wedding trend that adds an experience to a couple’s ceremony. Once Amber and Mitch were pronounced husband and wife, their night was filled with ribs; including a rib “toast” between the bride and a groomsman, cocktails, speeches, and an amazing dinner service.

Just as the sun began to set over the sweeping view of San Luis Obispo, I took the newlyweds out for a golf cart drive and a walk around the ranch. I wanted to take advantage of Spreafico Farms’ landscape to capture their wedding day portraiture in a way that felt both isolated and grand.
